Yes. We recommend booking in advance to make sure bikes are available, especially on weekends, public holidays and during the high season.
Reservations are subject to availability, so booking early will help you organize your trip with confidence.
Your rental includes a basic 26-inch mountain bike (MTB), helmet, printed and digital map of the Maipú Wine Route, mechanical assistance during the ride and personalized recommendations to help you organize your day.
Before you start, we’ll also recommend wineries, restaurants, safety tips and the best itinerary based on the time you have available.
Payments & Booking Policies
Bike rental is paid in person when you arrive at Maipu Bikes.
We accept cash in Argentine pesos, US dollars, euros and Chilean pesos. You can also pay by bank transfer, Mercado Pago, debit card or credit card. Please note that card payments include an additional processing fee.
Payment methods at wineries and restaurants may vary depending on each establishment.
No. At Maipu Bikes, bicycles are rented for the entire day so you can explore the Maipú Wine Route without worrying about time.
The latest recommended departure time is 2:30 PM, allowing enough time to visit wineries and restaurants before they close.
If weather conditions are not suitable for a safe ride, you’ll be able to reschedule your reservation for another available date.
If it starts raining during your ride or weather conditions change unexpectedly, contact Maipu Bikes and we’ll help you find the best solution.
If you need to change or cancel your reservation, please contact Maipu Bikes as soon as possible so we can review your case and the conditions of your reservation.

Learn how to plan your ride along the Maipú Wine Route, which wineries you can visit, whether reservations are required and how to make the most of your self-guided bike experience.
During your ride you’ll be able to visit the wineries, restaurants and olive oil tasting venues included in the official Maipu Bikes route. The number of places you visit will depend on the time you spend at each stop and the pace you choose for your day.
It depends on the winery you’d like to visit. At the moment, you can visit Tempus Alba, Bodega Viña El Cerno, Bodega Mevi, Bodega Domiciano, Entre Olivos, La Melesca and Casa de Campo without a reservation. Bodega Domiciano does not require a reservation, but it does have specific opening hours that you should consider when planning your route.
Bodega Trapiche, Bodega La Rural and Bodega Alandes, however, require advance reservations for winery tours, wine tastings or lunch experiences.
No. The bike rental does not include wine tastings, olive oil tastings, lunches or winery visits.
Each winery, restaurant or olive oil tasting venue offers its own experiences, which are booked and paid directly at each establishment.
The ride usually takes between 4 and 8 hours, depending on how many wineries and restaurants you decide to visit.
If you visit one or two places, around 4 hours is usually enough. If you’d like to enjoy tastings, have lunch and visit several wineries, most visitors spend the entire day.
Since this is a self-guided experience, you can explore the route at your own pace.
The complete route is approximately 12 to 16 kilometers (7.5 to 10 miles), depending on the wineries, restaurants and olive oil tasting venues you choose to visit.
It’s a mostly flat route, making it ideal for a relaxed bike ride through the Maipú Wine Route.
No. The Maipu Bikes experience is designed exclusively around the official route.
You’ll only be able to visit the wineries, restaurants and olive oil tasting venues included in our recommended itinerary.
This allows you to follow safer roads, make better use of your time and receive mechanical assistance throughout the ride.

Every bicycle is carefully inspected before each rental to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Yes. You must know how to ride a bicycle confidently to complete the route safely, as you’ll be riding on bike lanes and public streets shared with other vehicles.
If you have little cycling experience or don’t feel comfortable riding a bike, we recommend choosing another way to explore the Maipú Wine Route.
No. We currently offer only basic 26-inch mountain bikes (MTB).
We do not have electric bikes, children’s bicycles or child seats.
Always follow traffic regulations, wear your helmet throughout the ride and cycle carefully.
Although most of the route follows dedicated bike lanes, it’s important to stay alert, respect traffic and follow all safety recommendations.

Yes. Mechanical assistance is available throughout the official Maipu Bikes route.
If you need help, simply call the assistance number printed on your map and we’ll assist you according to your location.
No. Maipu Bikes provides mechanical assistance for bicycles, but we do not offer comprehensive medical assistance.
We do have access to a primary emergency response service for initial assistance. However, every visitor is responsible for having their own travel or medical insurance.

📍 Before Your Visit

You can reach Maipu Bikes by bus, Metrotranvía + bus, Uber, Cabify, taxi or private car.
The fastest public transport option is to take Express Bus 816, 817 or 920 from downtown Mendoza. The trip takes approximately 25 to 35 minutes.
You can also take the Metrotranvía to Gutiérrez Station and then Bus 812, which stops just a short walk from our shop.
We are open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

During the high season we’re generally open Monday through Saturday. During the low season we usually open on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
Yes. Free public parking is available on the street directly in front of Maipu Bikes.
You can also park in the commercial area located across the street from our shop.
We speak Spanish and a bit of English… what we like to call «Spanglish». 😄
Our English may not be perfect, but we’ll always do our best to help you plan your day and make sure you enjoy your experience on the Maipú Wine Route.
Yes. If you’re traveling with backpacks or suitcases, you can leave them safely at Maipu Bikes while you enjoy your bike ride.
