Bodega Trapiche: History, Architecture and Wine in Maipu
Bodega Trapiche: History, Architecture and Wine in Maipu
Along the Maipu Wine Route, wineries come in many different styles, sizes and historical backgrounds. Bodega Trapiche in Maipu brings several of these elements together in one place: a historic building, vineyards, a museum, wine tasting experiences and gastronomic proposals.
Located in Coquimbito, the winery offers the opportunity to discover the history of one of Argentina’s long-established wine brands while experiencing different ways of enjoying wine in a setting where architecture and landscape are also part of the visit.

A Winery with More Than a Century of History
The origins of Trapiche date back to 1883, associated with Tiburcio Benegas. More than a century later, the winery continues producing wines from different regions of Argentina, combining tradition, research and innovation.
One of the most recognizable elements of the visit is the historic winery building in Maipu, built in 1912. Its architecture is inspired by the Renaissance style and is an important part of Trapiche’s identity.
As a result, visiting the winery is not only about learning about wine production. The gardens, vineyards, museum and historic installations are also part of the experience.
Discover Bodega Trapiche Beyond the Wine Tasting
Trapiche offers different ways to discover the winery and its history. Depending on the experience selected, the visit may include the vineyards, museum, production areas and a wine tasting.
The current offer includes different visit and tasting formats. Some focus on the history and philosophy of the winery, while others explore particular wines, regions or styles in greater depth.
Published experiences generally last around one and a half hours, while the Masterclass takes approximately two hours.

Espacio Trapiche: When Wine Meets the Table
Within the winery, Espacio Trapiche offers a restaurant experience built around Trapiche wines and a cuisine based on seasonal ingredients and a close connection with their origin.
The kitchen uses produce from its own garden and offers a gastronomic proposal that includes tasting menus with wine pairing as well as à la carte options. In this setting, food becomes an integral part of the wine experience rather than simply an additional service.
Espacio Trapiche has also been recommended by the Michelin Guide, a recognition related to its gastronomic proposal.
Lunch is currently served from Monday to Saturday. Advance reservation is required for this gastronomic experience.

Estacion 83: Wine, Trains and a More Informal Experience
Another option within Trapiche is Estacion 83, a wine bar located inside a restored historic railway carriage.
The carriage was part of the railway system historically used to transport grapes to the winery. Today, the space offers wines by the glass and informal small plates designed for sharing, surrounded by an olive garden.
The concept differs from Espacio Trapiche. While the restaurant offers a more structured gastronomic experience, Estacion 83 provides a more relaxed setting centered around wine.
It currently operates on Thursdays from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm and on Fridays and Saturdays from 12:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Advance reservation is required.
